"VEÏNS DE PARCENT" RECEIVE REPORT FROM SINDIC DE GREUGES

IN RESPONSE TO THE PETITION LODGED BY 1700 PEOPLE IN APRIL

Veïns de Parcent have received the report issued by the Sindic de Greuges in response to our petitions regarding the provisional approval of the three PAIs at the council meeting of 30th January 2006.

The Sindica de Greuges, Sra Emilia Caballero Alvarez, has focused on one of many irregularities detailed in our petition, namely water, and has issued a very clear statement. After discussing the laws governing the necessity for a favourable water report from the Confederaciòn Hidrografica de Jucar and the negative response from Parcent Town Hall and Conselleria in Alicante when asked to supply this document, the Sindica concludes that without it the PAIs should be suspended.

Veïns de Parcent are delighted that such a prestigious, legal institution with the remit of defending citizen's rights as the Sindic de Greuges have supported our petition and we now hope and trust that Parcent Town Hall and Conselleria take note of the Sindic's judgement and announce the suspension of the processing of the three PAIs in question in Parcent.
