Veïns de Parcent - Newsletter Nº 54 - 9th May 2007

Dear friends,

Veïns de Parcent win an award!
We have been awarded a prize by the Green Party of Dénia in the IV Premios Saba Nova, under the heading of Citizens Initiative, along with Dianium Dansa and Asociación Comarcal de Ayuda al Drogodependiente. Our representatives hope to attend the dinner next Saturday to receive the award.

Thursday, 10th May – Council Meeting at 8.15 p.m.

Two items on the Agenda:

Now, a few dates as things hot up ...... I do not have any PP information at present, but will let you have it when available.

Friday, 11th May – Election campaign officially starts.

Saturday, 12th May – Residents' meeting at 7 pm. in the Club de Convivencia.
This will be conducted in English mainly and you will have the opportunity to meet your CDP candidates and ask them questions about their manifesto and the future of Parcent as they see it. We hope to have the printed manifesto by then, but will have the English, German, and Dutch translations available anyway.

Tuesday, 15th May – CDP meeting for all Parcentinos at 8 p.m. in the Club de Convivencia.
A Spanish language meeting to present the manifesto and answer questions. (This may be moved to Monday, so I will confirm it later on).

Thursday, 17th May – Dutch residents' meeting at 4 p.m. in Barranquet.
Dutch voters will receive an invitation to come to this meeting and meet some of the CDP candidates. Our thanks to Jan and Ria Meijer for offering their home for this meeting.

We also hope to arrange a similar meeting for German residents.

Voting Cards
These are now being sent out by post. Take yours with you on Election Day (Sunday, 27th May), plus photo ID document. We will also be distributing voting papers and envelopes, so that you can take them ready prepared on the day. They must not be marked in any way.

Postal Votes
Those who have already applied should receive your voting papers shortly – don't forget to take your photo ID when you collect them.
There is still time to apply for a Postal Vote at Correos, again showing ID, up to 17th May. Last day for voting by post is 23rd May.
If you have applied for a Postal Vote, you cannot vote on Election Day.

That's all for now, folks!

Jenny
