Veïns de Parcent - Newsletter Nº 59 - 10th June 2007
Dear friends,
This is rather a doldrums period when not much can be done until the new council is formally inaugurated on Saturday, 16th June. I
hope some of you will come to this meeting which will take place around midday. Before that, the last council meeting of the old
government will now take place on Thursday, 14th June, probably at 7 pm., at which the last few Minutes of council meetings will be
approved. I do not think anything else will be on the Agenda. I will confirm the times of these two meetings when I receive the
official notifications on Monday – well, actually, it will be Jacqui who gets the one for Saturday as I shall no longer be a
councillor by then!
On the same Saturday, 16th June, the CDP are holding a celebratory lunch at the Piscina Restaurant at 1.30 for 2 p.m., and you are
all invited to come. The menu consists of a variety of starters, main dish of meat or fish, dessert, coffee and all drinks (except
spirits). Tickets are now available from myself (El Moreral 3, tel 96 640 5365) and Geoff Taylor (Barranquet 17, tel: 96 640 5101) and
cost 20 euros each – please let us know if you prefer meat or fish. A cheaper children's menu is being negotiated…
Although, as I said above, this is a time of waiting to take over, your new councillors and the other members of the CDP are not
sitting idly around doing nothing. Plans are being made so that every minute of our legislature will count towards our goals as set
out in our manifesto. We hope, provided we do not meet any immovable obstruction, that we will be able to carry them out as quickly
as can be arranged.
No more for the moment.
All best wishes,
Jenny
